Crowdsourcing Mogul, Microtask, Named Top 100 European Innovator
The Red Herring editorial team finalized a list of the 100 most innovative companies from a pool of hundreds across Europe, and included Microtask, a leading crowdsourcing company, among the winners. The award gives further acknowledgement to the increasing effectiveness of crowdsourcing. Red Herring’s editorial staff evaluated the complete list of companies on both quantitative and qualitative criteria, such as financial performance, technology innovation, management quality, strategy, and market penetration.
Red Herring’s Top 100 Europe list has become a mark of distinction for identifying promising new companies and entrepreneurs. Red Herring editors were among the first to recognize that companies such as Facebook, Twitter, Google, Yahoo, Skype, Salesforce.com, YouTube, and eBay would change the way we live and work.
Microtask recently launched a new service called Microtask Forms, which offers a simple way to digitize paper forms. The service is powered by Microtask’s crowdsourcing platform designed to automatically split dull repetitive tasks into tiny microtasks and distribute them over the internet. Microtask also recently launched Digitalkoot, a project to digitize The National Library of Finland’s newspaper archives.
The Red Herring editorial team analyzed hundreds of leading companies and technologies and selected those who are positioned for explosive growth. The announcement came during a conference in Amsterdam, which brought together 200 C-level tech entrepreneurs, corporate strategists, and venture financiers from across Europe.
