CrowdFlower Launches Product Categorization Solution

Written by Ramon Youseph.

CrowdFlower, has announced the release of its Product Categorization solution which enables companies to optimize their product taxonomies making their products easier for customers to find.

The solution boasts high quality results produced efficiently and virtually in real time with a 95% rate of accuracy. This is due largely to the availability of a  global workforce of evaluators and experts providing more than 1.5 million trusted human judgements.

Online consumers are savvy. If an e-commerce site’s poor categorization makes it hard to find the right products, shoppers will move on to the next site. They don’t have to wait around for sites to get it right. CrowdFlower’s Product Categorization solution helps e-commerce companies ensure that consumers find the product they’re looking for the first time around.

To use the tool, a client provides CrowdFlower with a set of their taxonomy and business rules for how to categorize items. The appropriate subsection of the workforce is then selected to categorize each of the items. From the data provided, CrowdFlower determines the best aggregate answer which is then relayed back to the client.  The inclusion of an API and customized dashboard means data can be transferred to the client by way of  an automated solution.

The release of CrowdFlower’s Product Categorization solution comes after having recently raised $7 million in a Series B round of financing. The round was led by Harmony Partners, who specialize in securing financing for companies with proven technology and ready to scale business models, with participation from existing investors, Trinity Ventures and Bessemer Venture Partners. To date CrowdFlower has secured over $13 Million in venture financing.

We’ve seen how CrowdFlower’s array of quality-controlled crowdsourcing solutions has proven an asset for Fortune 500 businesses and other companies with large-scale data needs. At a time when startups are seeking to build the next killer app, CrowdFlower is changing the way the world works.
