GoFundMe Allows You to Setup Your Own Crowdfunding Ecosystem
Crowdfunding giant, GoFundMe, recently expanded their partnership program allowing outside organizations to create branded campaigns for their own community. The member network program is the latest in a string of upgrades and announcements that's helped lift payment volume from $2 million to $3 million per month in the last quarter.
The new partner program seems a little complex at first, but is simple once explained. There are two programs anyone can sign up for - The Partner Program or Member Network. The Partner Program works like a basic affiliate program giving you a special link to share. The Member Network is the branded experience.
The simplicity lies in the fact that regardless of which program you sign up for, GoFundMe will pay you 2.5% of every payment you refer. If you refer a user to create their own campaign, you'll earn 2.5% of every dollar they raise. If you refer a user who makes a donation, you'll earn 2.5% of their donation. Every partner earns this regardless of which program you sign up for.
The difference is that Member Networks are designed for organizations to help their users set up a fundraising campaign. It's not a campaign for the organization, but rather a campaign for the users of that organization. Essentially, GoFundMe is allowing any organization to create their own crowdfunding website, portal, or ecosystem.
Crowdfunding campaigns set up through the Member Network also display the logo of the partner. Initial news indicates top performing members will be displayed in a carousel on the homepage, however, this feature is yet to be released.
One of GoFundMe's earliest partners, International Volunteer HQ, has already helped launch thousands of campaigns on GoFundMe for a combined total of $153,621.00 raised to help place individuals into volunteer positions around the world. IVHQ places more than 4,000 individuals into volunteer positions each year, but doesn't provide these individuals with airfare, insurance, or other fee reimbursements. Their goal is to make the experience affordable and helpful, not to fund it for you.
These 4,000 individuals each year must perform their own fundraising efforts to support their dreams. Crowdfunding, and specifically GoFundMe, is now making it even easier for these 4,000 volunteers to quickly raise the funds needed to cover these costs.
