The World of Crowdsourcing Finished Its First Acquisition

Written by Casey Armstrong.

After ongoing talks over the past year, the world's first crowdsourcing creative agency, Victors & Spoils has been acquired by Havas, an international advertising/communications group & French holding company.

By the aquisition, the company has become a part of Havas 's Wordlwide business unit, a sign that big-media is realizing the strength of crowdsourcing in creative idea generation.

One of their first projects with Victors & Spoils will include creating a crowd of 15,000 for Havas to harvest ideas.

John Winsor Founded the company in 2009 in Boulder CO and is now Havas' chief innovation officer and CEO of Victors & Spoils. Here's what he had to say about the value of his business and the move toward crowdsourcing business models in creative agencies.

"In this new world of digital abundance, where great ideas can come from everywhere, the future of advertising is radically changing. David's vision for Havas is something I deeply believe in and will only accelerate our vision to change the advertising industry for the better globally for clients and creatives." - John Winsor
