Crowdnetics, the company behind GoodWorldCreations, has launched its second crowdfunding platform GreenUnite as a follow up to its flagship system HelpersUnite.com. Crowdnetics, which is approaching its first birthday, is aiming to make the world a better place by leveraging the Internet and social networking in conjunction with high-tech software. “We saw no one else doing eco-friendly crowdfunding,” said cofounder Luan Cox, a 15-year veteran of the tech scenes in Silicon Valley and New York.
IDEO is a design firm that assists companies in sparking and nurturing creativity within an organization. In 2010, the firm launched OpenIDEO to help solve pressing societal issues through crowdsourcing. IDEO refers to their methodology of “design thinking,” which marries the human perspective with available technology. More recently, OpenIDEO teamed up with Michigan-based Steelcase, which sponsored a challenge to help find sustainable solutions for cities like Detroit that are facing economic decline.
