Open Innovation Pioneer NineSigma Announces 20% Growth Increase in 2010

NineSigma has just announced that increasing demand for innovation services has led to a record year of expansion for the company, growing by 20% in 2010. The expansion can be credited, according to the company, to a growing recognition and awareness that innovation is critical to long-term success.

Launched in 2000, NineSigma was one of the first companies providing open innovation and collaboration strategies to its clients, accelerating their innovation cycle by tapping into external ideas and solutions, instead of the more traditional innovation model where ideas are secretively generated inside the companies for the companies themselves.

NineSigma has several clients that are Fortune 500 companies, including auto manufacturers, food companies and energy suppliers. The company has also successfully partnered with 30% of Fortune 50 corporations, all of which contributed to NineSigma’s 20% growth in 2010. Among the 2010’s new clients are Bostik, Harsco, the Big Idea Group, CEVA Santé Animale and CIBA VISION Corporation.

NineSigma’s facilitates access to technology solutions and offers services such as designing new products, coaching, trend monitoring and strategy implementation, among other.

The organizations that continue to surge ahead are those that never hesitate in their quest to innovate. In particular, the ability to embed collaborative innovation across the organization is a key and winning differentiator in today’s global market place.
