Ideavibes, a web app company based in Ottawa, Canada which focuses on crowdsourcing and crowdfunding, has recently launched two service applications, called the Ideavibes Crowdsourcing App and the Ideavibes Crowdfunding App. Both applications are available to the general public and organizations and either may be customized to better suit the needs of its users.
Paul Dombowsky is the Founder and CEO of Ideavibes. He has over ten years of marketing experience in the technology field. His experience with Telus raised his interest in crowdsourcing and inspired him to develop a socially-conscious crowdsourcing and crowdfunding platform.
Ideavibes is based upon three main issues (from the About page):
We can create cool products that are reliable, customer focused and easy to use. The crowd is a powerful way to make change happen – in business and in the community. We can build a successful company where the entrepreneurial spirit and social consciousness are built into the DNA.
The Ideavibes Crowdsourcing App can be used in an i-frame on a client’s website. Users may use one of two campaigns: where the ideas are known and comments are solicited from the crowd, or where the ideas are solicited from crowd. Anyone may comment on any of the ideas. All ideas may be sorted and searched. Within Ideavibes, all users/members are treated equally. Users (clients or commenters) may view ideas and track how many comments and votes each idea has garnered.
The Ideavibes Crowdfunding App is a hosted crowdfunding application, based on the Ideavibes Crowdsourcing App, but with the added function of “Funding.” Beanstream is the default payment gateway used, and may be used to collect funds for the client. Both Funders and Project Posters can track votes, comments, and funds raised on their projects and ideas.
