Shaun White tests crowdsourcing
Shaun White had a little fun with his Facebook fans & tried his hand at crowdsourcing, by asking his beloved followers if it’s time to chop off his ginger locks. A simple photo of Shaun pondering in front of a cheap barber shop ad is all it took to generate more than 3600 responses. The photo was posted last night & immediately met with every synonym for “No.” In addition to the comments, over 2500 people “liked” the photo on Facebook.
The photo shows Shaun in front of a barber shop sign, with a simple comment asking, “I I don’t know………. Is it time??” Apparently not. The majority of comments received adamantly begged him not to do anything drastic. Although a few commenters suggested donating his hair to a cancer patient.
Within hours of posting the photo, his Facebook page was receiving a new comment every 30 seconds. This photo received ten times the number of comments he usually receives. Many responders simply replied in all caps, “NOOOOOOO….” Do you think Shaun may have learned how much fun crowdsourcing ideas can be?
